INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (Windows 95)
=====================================
Insert the SuperScript Solutions CD in your CD-ROM drive. If Windows 95 CD Auto-play is enabled, the installation menu will automatically launch. (It takes about 45 seconds for the screen to first appear.) The Autoplay feature allows Windows 95 to automatically detect and play a CD that is inserted into the drive. See "Autoplay Settings" section below.
If the menu does not launch automatically:
1) Click the Start button and then select the Run command.
2) Type D:\MENU.EXE (assuming the CD-ROM is drive D, if not,
use the appropriate drive).
3) From the installation menu select the item(s) you wish to install.
4) Restart Windows after exiting the installation menu.
AUTOPLAY SETTINGS:
If you do not want Windows 95 to automatically detect your CD follow these steps to disable this option:
1) Click the Start button, select CONTROL PANEL, and then double
click SYSTEM.
2) Click the "Device Manager" tab, and select CD-ROM from the
device list.
3) Highlight your CD-ROM drive and click "Properties".
4) Select the "Settings" tab.
5) Uncheck the "Auto Insert Notification" option.

1) Insert the SuperScript Solutions CD in your CD-ROM drive.
2) Select the Run command from the File menu.

DRIVER, STATUS MONITOR, AND ONLINE USER'S GUIDE
===============================================
The CD version of the SuperScript 860 Setup program installs the driver, Status Monitor, and the Online User's Guide. The help files for the driver and Status Monitor have been modified to enable links to the Online User's Guide. To use these links:
1) Click the Help button in any of the driver or Status Monitor
windows.
2) At the end of each Help section look for the following sentence
which allows you to automatically load the Online User's Guide and
go directly to the related section:
"For more information see [Subject Link] in the SuperScript 860
User's Guide."
The Online User's Guide can also be run independently by double-clicking the NEC SuperScript 860 User's Guide icon in the SuperScript program group or by selecting it from the Windows 95 Start menu under NEC SuperScript.
**NOTE**: If you have previously installed the SuperScript 860 driver from the floppy disk or CD, please be sure to run the Uninstall program to remove the driver before reinstalling from the CD.
ADOBE TYPE MANAGER 3.0.2 PLUS 78 TYPE-1 FONTS

To install the ATM package and all fonts, you will need about 4 megabytes of free disk space. For ATM installation instructions, see the file ATM.TXT in the ATM3_02 directory on this CD.
HOW TO LOOK GOOD ON PAPER
===========================
This Acrobat document contains useful information for designing attractive pages. It is your online guide to using the 78 fonts you received with your CD. Be sure to install Acrobat Reader first.
ADOBE ACROBAT READER 2.1

Adobe Acrobat software gives you instant access to documents in their original form, independent of computer platform. With the Acrobat Reader, you can view, navigate, print, and present any Portable Document Format (PDF) file. For more information about Acrobat see file README_R.TXT in the ACROREAD directory on this CD.
CLIPART
=======
The Imageline clip art included on your SuperScript 860 CD is ready to be placed in any application you use. To view your clip art library, simply double-click on the BROWSER.PDF Acrobat file in
the Clipart folder on this CD. Be sure to install Acrobat Reader first. The BROWSER.PDF file provides you with a thumbnail view of the clip art included. Once you have selected your desired image, find the
corresponding image name in the folder entitled Clipart. When you're ready to place your image, open your application and use the equivalent of the Insert file menu "Picture" (as in Microsoft Word) or "Import, Picture" command to bring the image into your document.
If you experience any difficulties importing the image into your application, please consult the user's manual of the appropriate application for more detailed instructions.
INTERNET IN A BOX
=================
Internet In A Box is a complete software solution for connecting to the Internet. It provides four components which allow you to connect, use, and understand the Internet:
ò Internet Connection Alternatives
Set up Internet In A Box for Instant Internet access with InterServ,
the default Internet Service Provide (ISP), or use another ISP.
Internet In A Box provides dial-on-demand access to the Internet
over a SLIP or PPP connection, and includes an extensive
listing of ISP's.
ò Internet Applications
Includes SPRY's suite of intuitive Windows applications for the
Internet.
ò Internet Books Online
Installation & Configuration Guide, and User's Guide in Acrobat
PDF format. Be sure to install Acrobat Reader first.
ò Internet Resources
The online Quick Tour introduces you to the Internet and the
Internet In A Box applications. The default connection to the
Internet In A Box World Wide Web is the NEC Home Page.
System required to use Internet In A Box:
- IBM-compatible 386 computer with 4 megabytes of RAM (You will
notice increased performance with additional RAM on your system )
- For optimal performance, an IBM-compatible 486/33 or greater
computer with a fast (1 MB or greater) video card and 8 megabytes
or more of RAM is recommended. A sound card will allow you to
hear sounds that you find on the Internet using SPRY Mosaic or
SPRY News.
